"Not believing in yourself because you’re worried about what others will think is a self-defeating prophecy. Let’s change that.”
-Emily Krasch
🗣: I’ve struggled with this for years and I know I’m not alone. We all share the same thoughts from time to time, things like:
✨”What if I do XYZ and nothing happens?!”
✨”What if people don’t want to hear what I have to say?”
✨”What if I’m not qualified? What if I don’t get the job?! What if I fail?!”
✨”What will my parents think? My friends? My co-workers?”
The “what if’s” are endless… and it’s time to change this attitude. It’s time to stop thinking “what if,” break out of our comfort zones and reach for the stars!
If I’m being honest, I still struggle with this today, but I’m working hard to push pass it. I’d be lying if I said that sharing my stories doesn’t scare me shitless. It does. However, I am sure I’ve missed out on countless opportunities to grow and to positively impact someone’s life…all of this and more because I was too afraid and stuck in my head with a million “what if’s”.
It’s been a journey and I’ve realized that when we hold back we also hold others back. Let’s change that.
There is someone that needs to hear your story. There is someone who wants to meet you. There is a job with a team that hasn’t reached its full potential because the missing ingredient is you! You don’t have all the qualifications on paper, yet you’re the most qualified for the job.
If putting yourself out there scares you, I get it. Just remember that it’s not about the number of likes or followers you get, it’s about doing you. It’s about reaching one person. It’s about achieving your dreams. It’s about having a positive impact on this world. It’s about being transparent. The world needs more transparency. The world needs your talents. The world needs the real you.
Even if you only impact one soul, that’s one more person who is a little less lost because of you. Keep stretching. Keep working at gaining confidence in your abilities.
I hope you find your passion. I hope you pursue it because it makes you happy. I hope you get rid of the “what if’s” and push onward despite what others might think!
